BEACON COMMUNITY CARE has been founded by the management of Gemal College to:
  • Provide welfare advice, information and counselling service on welfare benefits, housing difficulties, and personal financial matters.


  • Provide information advice on all aspects of education, training and employment with the aim of enhancing employment prospects of individuals.


  • Provide "ESOL" training for refugees and ethnic minorities who have difficulties with the English language.


  • Provide training for local community in the area of information technology, dressmaking, hairdressing, health and social care, child care and health promotion and design technology.


  • Provide drug education, helping individuals and communities to manage the effects of drug and alcohol misuse.


  • Promote social and economic initiative.


  • Promote active citizenship and sensitivity to and respect for cultural diversity.


  • Provide an infrastructure for dialogue and community involvement.


  • Provide information to the community and increase awareness in the community of services, investments and resources available to them.
